Permanent secretary urges agric ministry staff to ensure food security

Outgoing permanent secretary in the Federal Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development, Dr Bukar Hassan, has urged all staff of the ministry to remain committed to the goal of achieving national food security for the country and ensuring that agriculture attains its deserved position in national development.

He said this during a send-forth ceremony organised in his honour by the ministry in Abuja, recently.

The minister, Chief Audu Ogbeh and the minister of state, Senator Heineken Lokpobiri, commended Dr Hassan for his brilliance, integrity, humility and dexterity at offering honest professional advice to his political heads in the Ministry thereby saving them from making avoidable mistakes.

Directors credited Hassan with result-oriented leadership, open door policy, humane disposition and commitment to staff welfare even in the face of dwindling resources.

A token present which Chief Ogbeh jokingly described as “not a cheque or parcel bomb” was later presented to the celebrant as a memento to the retiring administrator.
