Jigawa government promises to support farmers’ cooperatives

The Jigawa government has announced that it will support all farmers’ cooperative groups in the state.

This announcement was made by the Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Agricultural and Natural Resources of the state, Alhaji Gambo Ibrahim during a sensitisation workshop for agricultural extension workers and farmers in Dutse.

According to Ibrahim, the present administration under Governor Muhammad Badaru was committed to boosting agriculture in the state.

He further stated that the gesture is aimed at ensuring food security and providing income for the people of Jigawa state.

The permanent secretary charged the extension workers to transfer the new skills and knowledge they learnt at the workshop to farmers.

“I believe this would enable the government to achieve its objectives of boosting agriculture in the state.’’

The head of farmers’ advocacy and community engagement, Alhaji Ado Nasir, thanked the state government for organising the workshop for agriculture extension workers and farmers.

Nasir assured that the Extension work would impart the new skills and knowledge they acquired during the workshop to the farmers across the state.
