Benue to develop Agric Value Chain

Benue State governor, Samuel Ortom has revealed that his administration is working to develop the agricultural value chain in the state.

Ortom said this in a meeting with Ambassadors of European countries, representing the European Union (EU) to deliberate on various areas of partnership for development.

Governor Ortom who commended the EU for its efforts at deepening relationship with the Benue State government said Benue state would in turn utilize the opportunities that manifest with time.

He solicited the support of the EU in critical areas like health, water supply, flood control and the resettlement of displaced people.

In his remarks, Head of the EU delegation, Ambassador Ketil Karlsen lauded Governor Ortom for his presentation and his insight to the issues raised, noting that it would help the EU team to get a deeper perspective into the issues.

Ambassador Karlsen affirmed that the EU would partner with the Benue State government in the areas highlighted in the meeting.
