In its bid to improve the livestock sector, the Federal Government has pledged its support to the Bauchi State government on the modernization of the grazing reserves.
Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development, Alhaji Muhammad Sabo Nanono made the commitment to the Bauchi government, during an interactive session with agricultural stakeholders in the state.
According to him, the Livestock Transformation Plan inaugurated by President Buhari’s administration is targeted at assisting the beneficiaries who would key into the programme.
He said, “The Ministry will sensitize farmers and other critical stakeholders on the need to key into the policy because already foreign investors have agreed to invest in the sector.
“I assure you of federal government support for effective implementation of the policy Bauchi State. By the time it is fully implemented, our industries will be revived and our youths will have enough jobs to go to.”
The State governor, Bala Mohammed who was represented by his deputy, Baba Tela, stated that the development would contribute its quota to reducing poverty and unemployment in the state, adding that the state government has dived into the livestock program.
He further commended the Federal Government’s initiative to modernize grazing reserves in the state.
