The Poultry Association of Nigeria (PAN), Plateau State chapter has implored the state government to support poultry farming for more profitability.
The Chairman of the association, Johnson Bagudu gave the charge on Friday during the state’s World Egg Day celebration themed “Benefits of Egg as Nature’s Super Food”.
According to him, poultry farmers constitute 40% of the employers of labor in Plateau State and the assistance of the government is needed to place the sub-sector on the path of growth and development.
“Any government that claims agriculture is one of its cardinal agenda should not neglect the poultry industry. Kano State’s poultry industry is thriving today because of government support. We can also do it in Plateau”, he said.
Speaking further, he charged Nigerians to consume at least one egg per day because of its nutritional benefits.
