World Food Prize: Borlaug Dialogue to address global food security issues

The 2019 Norman E. Borlaug International Symposium hosted by the World Food Prize Foundation is set to commence from October 16 to 18th at Des Moines, Iowa, USA to help build alliances for the struggle against world hunger and malnutrition.

Notably known as “The premier conference in the world on global agriculture”, the Borlaug Dialogue each year brings together over 1,200 people comprising scientific experts, policy leaders, business executives and farmers from more than 65 countries of the world to address cutting-edge issues related to global food security and nutrition.

The three-day symposium for this year is themed “Pax Agricultura: Peace Through Agriculture” and it is aimed at addressing the increasingly intersectional issues of food security, conflict and development.

Speakers at this year’s symposium include; Group Vice President, Corporate Affairs of The Kroger Co. Ms. Jessica Adelman; President of the African Development Bank, Dr. Akinwumi Adesina; Chief Technology Officer of Pivot Bio, Dr. Richard Broglie; CEO, ZeaKal, Inc. Mr. Han Chen; the Director of Center for Global Food Security, Dr. Gebisa Ejeta; CEO, U.S. Farmers and Ranchers Alliance, Ms. Erin Fitzgerald and many others.
