Kebbi varsity trains farmers on how to increase productivity

Farmers in Kebbi State have been empowered with training on technicalities and technologies to increase rice productivity per hectare to meet rising local demand.

The Faculty of Agriculture, Kebbi State University of Science and Technology, Aliero, organised the three-day capacity building on rice production and post-harvest management.

The Vice-Chancellor of the university, Dr Sahabi Maga, commended the efforts of organisers for choosing the institution for the training, assuring them good outcomes.

“We train and retrain. Our focus is to see that our agriculture should be another way of economic diversification in Nigeria as Kebbi is the leading state in rice productions,” he added.
