Minister reiterates FG’s commitment to Nigerian farmers

In line with President Muhammadu Buhari’s vision to achieve food security in the country, Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development (States), Mustapha Baba Shehuri, has assured Nigerian farmers of the Federal Government’s total support.

The Minister who said this when he hosted members of Nigeria Farmers Group and Cooperative Society (NFGCS) in his office stated that NFGCS was a sure model capable of lifting millions of Nigerians out of poverty.

While noting that he was impressed with the operational strategy of the group when he read about its success story, Shehu commended the team for adopting same strategies of operation in South Africa in Nigeria.

“I don’t mind seeing this replicated in other states, such moves would help curb poverty, crime and also the rate of unemployment in rural communities in the country” He added

He commended the management of the Group for their efforts geared towards ameliorating the plights of farmers in the country.
