
Three suspected cattle rustlers who have reportedly raided several cattle owners in Kebbi and Niger state have been apprehended by the Niger State Police Command and are currently in custody.
According to reports, the suspected criminals terrorized cattle owners at the Kwakwa Fulani settlement in Kebbi State and the Rijua Local Government area of Niger State.
The suspects; Malami Shehu, Sani Shehu, and Mohammed Chede were said to have been arrested after one of the resident farmers reported the incident.
Public Relations Officer of the Command, Muhammad Abubakar said the suspects have confessed to the crime and would be charged to court after investigation.
Abubakar disclosed that the police operatives recovered 78 cows from the suspect, adding that some of the original owners have already identified their cattle.
Reports further revealed that the suspects have been a nuisance to cattle owners, rustling cattle from Maje, Libele, Danmaraya, Alambelu and Sabon Gari Usher villages in Magama Local Government of the state.
