The Fisheries and Aquaculture Business Development Agency (FABDA), Anambra chapter, has urged unemployed youths in the state to key into the business opportunity available in the aquaculture including fish farming.
Managing Director of the agency’s Anambra chapter, Mr. Emeka Iloghalu, made the call on Saturday during an interview with the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN).
Iloghalu, who expressed optimism for a bright year for the business, added that the state government had put necessary machinery in place for effective development of the sub-sector.
The managing director also revealed plans to expand the business in the state.
“We are set to construct fish villages across the three senatorial districts with modern facilities and later replicate same in the 21 local government areas. This is job creation on its own,” he said.
Iloghalu also noted that the agency was doing its best to attract local and foreign investors to invest in the industry.
He said that FABDA had created private sector initiative for fisheries and aquaculture lovers and had the mandate to attract other persons to the initiative.
Iloghalu lauded the Anambra State Government for their support towards the agency.
“We will try to build fishery academy where those that are willing to embark on fishery project will be enlightened,” he added.
