Ecobank Set to Hold Agric Summit, Targets N70bn to Boost Agribusinesses

In furtherance of its course to build capacity and unwrap the potentials of the Nigerian agricultural sector, Ecobank Business Group is set to hold its Agric Business Summit.

Department Head, Agribusiness, Ecobank Group, Mojisola Oguntoyinbo stated that the summit, which is scheduled to hold on the 13th of February, 2020, will contribute to the development of the nation’s agricultural sector.

In her words: “The maiden edition of the Ecobank Agribusiness Summit is to stimulate discussions, examine critically the opportunities with the intent of unlocking the growth potentials in the entire value chain of the agric sector. ”

She added that the group’s pool of human resources for the summit includes industry experts who would take up the responsibility of addressing key issues relating to current economic developments in the agricultural sector.

“The event will include keynote speakers, panel discussion sessions and exhibition of Agro and agro-allied products where marketplace experience will be created for buyers and sellers to interact and make sales.

“Between 400 and 450 firms, regulators and other stakeholders in agribusiness are expected to attend and participate at the event. This will create an opportunity for networking among the industry players”. She explained.

Meanwhile, Ecobank recently announced plans to disburse loans of about N70 billion to various agriculture value chains, via its Agriculture Businesses Finance Scheme.
