The Kano State Agro-Pastoral Development Project (KSADP) seeks to work closely with the private sector and international non-governmental organisations, State Project Coordinator, Malam Ibrahim, has said.
Ibrahim made the observation on Tuesday during a virtual meeting of KSADP with officials of the Islamic Development Bank, a multilateral development finance institution located in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia.
Chief Executive Officer of Manobi Africa PLC, Daniel Annerose, also attended the webinar
Ibrahim noted that the meeting sought to fine-tune proposed technical cooperation between KSADP and Manobi.
He explained, “It is to ensure that the proposed interventions endurably increase agricultural production, yields and make crops residues and agro-industrial by-products more abundant in the state.”
The meeting also focused on how information communication technology could be deployed to help smallholder farmers in the state get better access to the global food market, he said.
In addition, the meeting sought to improve data collection and management as well as capacity building, among other issues.
