Buhari Appoints New Executive Directors for NAIC

President Muhammadu Buhari has approved the appointment of Bashir Tijjani Babajo as the new Executive Director of Operations for the Nigerian Agricultural Insurance Corporation (NAIC).

The president also sanctioned the renewal of the appointment of Philip I. Ashinze as the corporation’s Executive Director of Finance and Administration.

The appointments, which became effective retrospectively from 1st August 2020, are for a four-year term each.

Details of the president’s approval was contained in a letter signed by Buhari’s Chief of Staff, Prof. Ibrahim Gambari, and conveyed to the Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development, Alhaji Muhammad Sabo Nanono.

Reacting to the appointment, Nanono congratulated the appointees, urging them to bring their wealth of experience to bear to ensure the continuous implementation of NAIC’s mandate in accordance with extant laws and other subsisting rules and regulations.

The minister further advised the newly-appointed executive directors to justify the confidence reposed in them by working with all relevant stakeholders to uphold the harmony in the agricultural sector in support of President Buhari’s Next Level Agenda.
