NDE Extends Agribiz Training to Ekiti Youths

The National Directorate of Employment (NDE) says it has started training 100 youths in Ekiti State on agriculture through its Sustainable Agricultural Development Training Scheme (SADTS).

The Directorate had commenced the training in Akwa Ibom and Rivers States, AgroNigeria reported.

NDE State Coordinator, Alao Babatunde, while kicking-off the new exercise recently in Ado-Ekiti, explained that the training would help to empower the youths of the state.

Babatunde noted that the participants were drawn from across the three senatorial districts of Ekiti State.

The trainees, he added, would be tutored on crop farming and livestock production, marketing, entrepreneurial training and business plan preparation.

He said, “You are expected to use this opportunity to launch into being entrepreneurs and employers of labour. See yourself in a better light as from today.

“NDE has a success story of making employers of labour in various sectors and I strongly advise you to be part of that success story.

“Don’t joke with this training. They will help you become self-reliant and useful economically.

“As you are empowered, you stand the chance of equally empowering others. Your future is now. Don’t waste it on frivolities.”

Like other states, the training for the Ekiti youths will span three months with a three-week intensive theory training, Babatunde added.
