Nanono Inspects Ministry’s Ongoing Road, Drainage Construction Projects in Kano

The Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development, Alhaji Sabo Nanono, on Monday inspected some ongoing projects in Kano awarded by his ministry in late 2020.

The projects, supervised by the Department of Rural Development, include the constructions of asphaltic roads with triple cell box concrete culverts, concrete drainage and slabs at three different locations across the state.

According to Nanono, these projects will not only provide access to farmers but will also connect rural towns, link the local economies and ease transportation services.

The minister added that among other benefits, the projects would further help to connect rice and all-season farmers in Indabo to both Garko and Wudil markets.

During the inspection, Nanono restated the need for state and local governments as well as traditional rulers to team up to take charge of the responsibility of ownership of the new facilities by ensuring their proper maintenance and usage among the masses as part of the dividends of democracy.

In their reaction, beneficiary communities of these projects expressed their profound gratitude to the Minister for the kind gesture.

They also commended Nanono for his tireless efforts towards improving the lives of rural dwellers in the country.
